In Nablus, the looms are still running.

The Gaza Seawaves Kuffiyah is inspired by the Mediterranean coastline of Gaza; where the sea has long been woven into daily life, memory, and identity.

Bands of color move across the traditional kuffiyah pattern like waves meeting the shore. Deep blues, greens, reds, and warm earth tones flow through the weave, framed by a soft coastal pink border and finished with hand-knotted tassels. The changing colors reflect the movement of the Mediterranean and the many shades cast across Gaza’s coastline from morning to sunset.

This kuffiyah was woven in Nablus by the Nablus Textile Company, a family-run factory founded in 1950 and one of only two remaining kuffiyah factories in Palestine. It brings together two Palestinian cities through one piece: woven by Palestinian hands in Nablus and created in honor of Gaza and its sea.
